The groom, Joe, is a Baltimore boy and is ‘ghetto,’ he says lol. Now ghetto is used to mean a lot of things, but having grown up in a ghetto area myself, I’ve always seen ghetto as meaning a person with grit, who deals with reality without much anxiety, laid back, relaxed and humorous even while being very aware of the world around you and its dangers. I would say this is a pretty accurate portrayal of Joe’s personality. He is funny, a bit goofy, he doesn’t seem to find much value in worry. Yet he knows exactly what his fiancé wanted, had plans on how to make it happen, and five seconds watching him around their children shows how very hands on he is.
The bride, Celia, is from Barstow, CA, ‘another type of ghetto’ she says laughingly. Like Joe, she was very relaxed about the wedding and trusted us to do our job of setting up and decorating the barn wedding venue for her. If you’re reading this, Celia, I know you said planning the wedding stressed you out, but I wish all our brides were as stressed out as you lol!
Celia has a beautiful personality and every meeting with her to discuss what she wanted for her wedding venue was full of laughter and smiles. (Here’s one way to lower your wedding stress)
Celia spent the morning doing justice to her looks. Her hair wedding style was swept up with curls and dotted with little baby’s breath and a gorgeous lace veil (Learn how to make a floral wedding crown here).
Her lace wedding dress fit her beautifully and let the world know just what a lucky guy Joe is to marry her!
The groom carried their toddler son down the aisle with him and the bride was walked by her two older sons showing how dedicated this family is to each other.
The officiant was a friend of the family and led the bride and groom in a sweet wedding ceremony that involved making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. An accurate portrayal of how well this bride and groom fit together!
The bride and groom took some gorgeous wedding photos while the wedding guests helped themselves to appetizers.
Itchy Foot BBQ, located in Victorville, always provides a custom setup for each wedding.
Appetizers from this High Desert caterer Itchy Foot BBQ were a four tier fresh fruit tray, caprese sticks with a Balsamic Glaze, and Aloha Meatballs with A Raspberry Chipotle sauce.
…Celia and Joe entered the barn to the awesome rock music of the High Desert band Aces and Eights.
Their table settings were simple as fits with a rustic barn wedding venue. Burlap and lace. Wood rounds and mason jars. Yet the striking pop of colors with their table centerpieces added another dimension of fun and elegance that was a perfect juxtaposition to the simplicity of the burlap.
Real flowers of Babies Breath complimented bright sunflowers with drooping purple and grey green Eucalyptus leaves. They smelled like heaven. (See more rustic wedding centerpiece ideas) And I also have to mention that the cake and frosting was amazing! Thanks Sweet T’s Treats!
The smell only got better when Itchy Foot BBQ began to serve their amazing food for the wedding dinner reception. Dinner Entree was Smoked Chicken Leg Quarters, Sweet Bourbon Pork Burnt Ends. They have a restaurant out in Victorville on Palmdale Ave. Visit them!
The sides were mixed dinner Salad w/ Buttermilk Ranch, Cucumber Cilantro Ranch and Italian. Maui Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, Corn on the Cobb & sweet Hawaiian rolls.
The bride and groom of course enjoyed the traditional wedding dances and partied down with their sons!
Joe’s parents flew in all the way from Baltimore to show their support to these newlyweds.
The bride and groom’s children ranged from young adults to this tiny and hilarious guy.
But all of them obviously love and respect their parents.
They had wayyyy too much fun getting the wedding garter and doing the garter belt toss lol!
And I almost got the wedding bouquet while filming the bouquet toss! Darn.
The wedding guests really enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making s’mores on the barn patio. Something we offer for every wedding at our venue.
All in all, this wedding was one of our favorites and was absolutely gorgeous. I even dabbled a little bit with my own wedding photography and came out with some wedding photos that I was proud of and I think the bride and groom really liked! I don’t think a single thing went wrong with this wedding. Bride, Groom and Wedding Venue all agree that this was a perfect wedding.
